The earlier you start, the better. The beginning of your third trimester is usually a good time to book your doula. We frequently advise starting your search in your second trimester, talking to and interviewing a few doulas to see who is the greatest fit for you. You deserve someone with whom you can easily connect with and who matches your personality and needs.

Many people believe that a doula replaces the spouse/partner, but we actually help them as well. We are firm believers that our responsibility as your doula is to magnify support for you and your spouse/partner. We've dealt with a variety of birthing partners, and one thing they all have in common is that your spouse/partner understands you better than anybody else. Even if they are unsure how to assist you throughout labor and delivery, they are aware of your anxieties, preferences, and aspirations. We support your spouse/partner by encouraging them, providing direction and recommendations as required, reminding them to remain hydrated and take breaks, and more.
